The fact is that there are 30 million Americans that suffer from migraines; the majority of them being women. Women on birth control pills have a 5-fold increase in stroke if they have migraine with aura. Other risk factors for stroke include hypertension, smoking, obesity, high cholesterol and history of stroke or heart attack.
